share buy backs don’t drive thr sp up ,but they tend to put a floor under the price.Because the broker will be active on down days for the market ,it will tend to limit downside on those days.One could argue with the tech sell of on last couple of months ALL SP has held up well.EPS will be higher from same revenue once buyback is complete.Brokers use eps to value companies.
