A major contributor to the rise in the CBA share price appears to be CBA itself.

CBA has bought back 2.589 million shares & can spend a total of $1 billion. So far, they have spent $282 million.

No wonder the share price is artificially high.

As of yesterday, they were allowed to pay up to $156 per share under the terms of the buyback.

The buyback is due to be completed by 13/8/2025.

I am not sure how this is going to affect the bottom line. Spending $282 million but 2.589 million fewer shares.
