This buy back notification was for 11 Nov. - 118000 shares. The previous BBN was 14 Aug. So, the company has not contributed to the price rise over the last 3 mths.
Also, the short position of CBA is 1.4% - that does not create a short squeeze. I have shares in a company that was 22% short and still is 17% and no squeeze has happened yet.
And the biggest contributor to the SP rise over the last 6-12 months has been the rise of the USA market. 25% in 12 mths. And another thing is the miners have been going down (selling) and the money going elsewhere (banks). Banks are flavour of the month (as I call it) Everyone wants them. All JMO
