I 100% agree with you on that, it would be great to see CXZ management/the board personally buying more on market at these levels (ideally a material amount relative to their base salary), in addition to the share buy-back.
To be fair, the CEO and the board have been buying on market in recent months. However, I'd like to see even greater shareholder alignment given that even I personally hold more shares than the board members do.For example, Tanarra Capital is on record saying that both the CEO and board members of ASX-listed companies should have at least 1.5x their annual salary/fees in shares.
TDM Growth Partners believe that non-executive directors should hold at least 5 times the value of their annual salary in company shares. "Significant director share ownership demonstrates a real commitment and belief in the business".
According to analysis from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, 53% of companies in the ASX 100 have a mandatory minimum shareholding requirement for chief executives. BHP and Westpac have the highest thresholds at 5 times base salary.
