Here's my theory on the buyback. Someone with a position of around 2m - 2.5m shares threatened to agitate, probably for complete liquidation. That would be a pretty easy pitch to long-suffering shareholders, so the board did a deal to buy them out via the on-market buyback at a given average price - maybe 55c given the volume traded around that level? And now that the potential agitator has exited, the buyback can shrink back into nothing, and the remaining shareholders can go back to the norm - that is, watching GC1 underperform.
