"not for profits" have huge advantages over "for profits" - no income tax, used to be no income tax now its vastly reduced income tax (eg PBI's, Health Promotion charities). In the case of protected employment have you seen the hourly wage rates? Entitled to Government Grants, Cheap Software and best of all Public Donations. Often they are doing the same things as for profits just with a much lower cost base, and (I think) lack of tough questions. A PBI, charity not for profit is second only to Coles WOW tenant. Of course there are exceptions. "Not for profit" - when is that ever policed?
