I don't bother looking at the gross figures. I think you're better off sticking with the aggregated data with the T4 delay and looking at the net change from the previous day. I believe the daily data just shows gross new short sales, it doesn't give you a picture of how many short positions were closed on the same day, so the aggregated data gives a better idea on what's outstanding.
