Yeah and I will be the first to admit that every stock on HotCopper has posters who think there is manipulation of prices. I just can't get my head around why there is so much interest in a relatively unknown stock. Even with agressive buying with a SBB $1.5m~ on the 26th UBS generated nearly 5 times as much volume alone (excluding every other broker that exists).
I think the SBB and waiting for more news is the only thing the company can do in these situations. It is hard, though as I suspect UBS can access a large pool of shares from clients who hold Neuren due to index inclusion. Technically they will need to re-buy everything that isn't being legitimately sold but as the stock goes down, the % weighting on the index goes down making it a self fuffling prophecy (somewhat).
The positive is that buying pressure from new news can overwhelm this action and it means that the upside is accelerated and we've seen what that looks like. The more shares the company can purchase, the better.
