As much as I like to see my stocks go up, I am quite keen for some discounts as well. Any economic recession that may occur will be completely manufactured. Trump is pretty crazy but my view is that his strategy of chaotic policy making is more to stir the pot than anything, and that he will very much aim to avoid long term damage. The uncertainty should push the Fed to lower rates, and perhaps a few businesses will announce investments in the US. There’s a reason he’s been so back and forth with all this, I think it’s quite clear his strategy is one more of inducing uncertainty than permanent damage.
Regardless though NEU is a strong business, with a product that is not exposed to the ups and the downs of the business cycle. Plenty of cash in the bank to weather the storm, however long that may be. As I said yesterday, the only real issue with prices going down is if the company is forced to raise at those low prices, but IMO NEU isn’t exposed to this risk
