Earnings will rise even if rates don't fall as old lower rate loans are replaced with new higher rate loans. Rates have now been flat for 7 months & it's now been 2 years since rates began to rise. So the reduction in margins should now have all but stopped & should start to increase going into FY25.
SVR seemed to think the Australian regulatory issues would be resolved in H2 FY25 but hadn't received sufficient information on NZ action to give guidance on resolution. Bearing in mind the NZ issues are substantially larger, unless they reach an agreement to settle before any court case, I can't see them being resolved in the next 12 months ie FY25.
