The sooner their done the better
With the sharemarket’s rally closer to the end than the beginning, Macquarie says it is time to reduce risk in its Australian equity portfolio by shifting exposure from interest rate beneficiaries to defensive stocks. To reduce its exposure to earnings risks, Macquarie recently removed James Hardie, Seven West Media, Flight Centre and Tabcorp from its portfolio, while reducing its positions in rate beneficiaries Computershare, National Australia Bank, Suncorp and Insurance Australia.
