    I think you may have an incorrect perception of this. The purpose of an on-market buy-back is to benefit shareholders by reducing the number of shares on issue. With fewer SOI, an individual shareholder holds a greater proportion of the company, and will benefit from a greater share of distributions (e.g. dividends etc).
    That is also achieved with RoC with Consolidation including future aims…look at the recent Suncorp buyback.
    It achieves most of the financial metrics that is used to support on-market buyback.
    On top of receiving 2 dividends in this financial year, I also received an extra payments known as a RoC distribution.
