Note the words Short- Term!
That could mean that they’re simply gambling with shareholder monies more likely for the CEO's and teams benefit.
The TSR has two beneficial components for this group either the share price remains high or if the share prices drops; due to lower share number they can buy shareholders favouritism thru higher dividends.
The floating price created by the BB is beneficial for traders and institutions at the expenses of Mum and Dad investors
