Westgold was spun out of MLX as I'm sure you'll recall. WGX has one of the highest ASIC in the industry and its management and operations are known within the WA gold industry as dumb as dogs& it and sloppy. Yet the SP is doing very well - supported by +ve sentiment alone, not t/o premium, as who in their right mind would take over their portfolio of poorly run, high-cost rubbish....well bar a Canadian Mining house (Sorry). MLX - The recent power outage at Nifty and the insipid explanation provided by management to the ASX quietly is case in point of the MLX culture. "we didn't make a material revision to production". all they had to say clearly was that ore was taken from stockpile - end of story, but no, they had to wind in all of the cumulative &uckups that have occurred since the last quarterly. Pray for a T/O and a replacement of the snr management culture as the current team do not seem to be able to effectively communicate their Nifty solution and how it will be implemented, and this is all at a copper price of c. US$3/lb - what does it take!. So we now all know what the "X" stands for in Metals X. maybe a depreciating A$ might avoid the ordinary shareholders from loosing all their money if MLX were to fold, prior to being restructured with fresh shareholders and new management.
