It is my understanding that there have been successful MIS plantations but they have not received the publicity of the failures. A poster on this board gave some examples, further as I understand it the crops required specific natural requirements, staff with expertise and a market prepared to pay a premium for the product both onshore and export.
Also once established they had a high MOAT against competitors.
