I think it's because we can both read AND comprehend English and then analyse what we've read in a logical fashion.
Of course if you're a complete idiot you might disregard date references and historic precedent (CIC have always been the last to agree to terms) and just shoot your mouth off with dumb generalisations - but then you'd be an idiot and the type of person most people disregard or treat their posts with ridicule and distain....
