Did they actually say that if you didn't go to the AGM then why complain.

This is serious because under the old management the head office was in NSW and was moved to Perth by the current management. I think it was in Goulbourn in NSW which would make it much easier for the majority of shareholders to attend. Probably done deliberately to make it harder for shareholders to attend meetings and then criticize them when they couldn't attend. Naturally the cost of management attending is paid for by the company.
