I don't have enough Au, Ag or Pt do consider that to be a diversifier. For me maximum diversification is minimum exposure to anything in particular including individual commodities so its pretty much index market funds VGS+VAS that serve that purpose for me. I used to be a gold and silverbug but got out around 2011 a bit before what I think of as the buy silver crash JP morgan (Max Keiser grift) bubble burst. Not out of any particular smarts on my part just needing the money at the time and rotating into bitcoin out of curiosity. I guess that could be seen as diversification from the rest of the market but I just think of it as another speculative trade, one that has gone up so much it makes my portfolio composition rather ridiculous as it makes me look like a degenerate gambler. It really is crazy that the dumbest things I own have performed so well. It sounds like bragging but I even have some airdropped crypto called mimblewimblecoin thats now apparently worth a couple of million. Thats crap I got for just having bitcoin and signing a message to prove it. I don't really believe it though because only the trading volume of that is only 0.001944% of its marketcap and well all crypto is intrinsically worthless where as PEN at least has assets right? it has the potential to make money right? it has cash in the bank to make that happen right? Ok there is risk it might waste the money and take too long to deliver or fail fundamentally but why in the hell have some made up tokens given to me for free gone from being worth nothing to apparently 2.6 million over the same time period? I really don't get the madness of it all. I thought the same way about bitcoin and eth, like this cant be real but nope Ive made several double digit percentage exits on those positions and the money is real. I would feel guilty for the suckers buying in if the price didn't just keep going up after. The people who bought my bags if they held on are sitting on a combined 100+ million AUD gain so good for them I guess but why do real world things suck so much as investments in comparison? thats rhetorical, the answer isn't a nice thing to say about people's intelligence.
