What you think it would go for, and what 75% of holders would actually accept, are two very different things. Your preference for a "big cash injection for a stake" is all good and well, but our individual preferences have zero relevance to what happens here. I'd love for that to happen too, but our circumstances just don't warrant that right now. I'd absolutely love to be wrong, but logic and basic economics suggest that we aren't in a position to be dictating the terms of the deal.
I own over 1m shares here, and I would gladly exit at this exact point in time for that premium to the current SP, which I would then direct to other assets in this distressed market. The same goes for any of my other lithium holdings.
