I understand and agree with you that KN1 has not been up to expectations thus far. But as we know, its the price you pay for a stock. The risk:reward of KEY @ 11 cents cuts the mustard for me. I'd much rather be in KEY (and stocks like KEY) that are out of favour, but still offer the rewards that a little more patience can provide. Hence I think the appropriate question is not, 'what has gone wrong in the past?' but is, 'what am I buying for 11 cents?'
