Yes the consoldiate and buy back small holdings is something that I recall Panterra has done in the past, so it should not come as unexpected.

If you want a classic example (pun intended) of that strategy that goes one step further, and as a bit of an aside in searching up Allowside Pty Ltd, I found them previously mentioned for the company I have dubbed the 'mega-diluter' to an insane level of 12bn shares before the same Consolidation, Small Holdings buy back (which is actually another version of hoovering), and the currently non-lodgement of a required ASX report leading onto being suspended from listing, usually itself a pre-cursor to going unlisted - that company is CLZ - Classic Minerals out of Perth

This is a June 2022 for CLZ and it mentioned the Consolidation too - worth a bit of a read up


Allowside actually comes up on more than one company's Top 20 (possibly why they were keen to go into Custodial ?) and there's even one Substantial Holder notiification for them too stating them to be out of a Victoria registered address, assuming it to be the same Allowside Pty Ltd that is.

But this is more about confirming your expectation of a share consolidation and small holding buy back, it's also an opportunistic reset for the Short Sellers to be able to sell for less risk than a 20% or 25% per pip move against them too if you were wanting to be cynical.
