Just a hypothetical ! We’re I to be an unscrupulous but clever Board member of an ASX listed Pharmaceutical company. Having been through many years of establishing itself as a specialist womens haealth provider in USA at huge expense costing shareholders $100s of millions and financial losses . Let’s suppose I had a senior and influential position on said board it wouldn’t be very difficult to divide company assets. EG. A CDMO based in Australia remains with existing SHs they may have distribution rights for certain products in home country but , USA rights had during breakup been sold off to ( let’s say a hedge fund X ) . Said fund May well pick up these supposedly costly performing products for a song . Then Low and Behold amazingly they really increase market share with sales and marketing o/ heads become far lower than previously this becoming a highly valuable company. Then again it only a hypothetical theory.
