Agree its not great for COG to have that capital tied up, but the uncertainty it puts on SCO being able to take control, reduce costs such as Board, Listing, Disclosure etc may be enough to even prevent them making a bid. I'm sure it would raise concerns for them as it would instantly reduce their business case and they would have planned on being able to take full control.

I don't hold CGR but hold COG. I'm unimpressed with COGs execution, its very messy to be stuck in this position but the 17% stake does give them a seat at the table. Frankly recent results and this whole episode leaves me less convinced COG management would do a good job if they do pull off the acquisition so i'm playing a wait and see game on my holdings at the moment.

I doubt the funds would be pulling out if they saw we were on the brink of a bidding war
