Cartex I gotta say comparing Lithium ion batteries with e cigarettes is a pretty poor analogy. There are clear and significant health reasons for tighter legislation around e cigarettes and in particular the dodgy "Big Tobacco" companies (with a clear and obvious track record of obfuscation and denial around the damaging impacts of their products) that market and sell such products. There are indeed safety issues around lithium ion batteries but you could say the same of lead acid batteries. They still put em in vehicles and have their place, as do lithium ion batteries. Lithium ion batteries are ubiquitous and considering there wide, extensive use with very few incidents, I think you are over egging it regards to their safety. There are standards in place for almost all manner of products and services and rightly so. This doesn't mean it has been an insurmountable impediment to companies looking to do business.
