Yes mate we agree on the basic fundamentals that matter in keeping Australia safe and prosperous. The Liberals share a lot of the blame too for our energy and defence problems -and in terms of the latter I think Marles is doing a good job but there is a real sense of urgency now and even I have had to change my thinking. Some nuclear subs in 20-30 years is not the answer -we need to develop armament manufacturing capability - a war machine as Ukraine is developing -with long range drones that can strike China if they step out of line from bases in the NT and we need nuclear weapons. We all would like to see a world without nuclear weapons but the reality is if we had nuclear no way Beijing would even dream of trying to subjugate a small country like Australia. It has to be deterrence -
