Meanwhile here is a video of the formation of the Gympie gold field - although I have known that the piece of land Gympie stands on is a separate and recent accreditation to the main piece of crust that is Australia, this vid presents a possible theory about how it happened. ie A separate island arc which formed in the ocean later than the main New England origon. approx 6.30 mins.
There is still gold to be found there in the place where that young boy roamed, I have no doubt.
