You don't go broke taking a profit....You are more likely to have success doing it Max's way and it also removes you either totally from the mkt in case of another GST or similar event, or at least reduces your exposure....you can also trade in another share or two with the same money, so no lost opportunity cost, rather than holding forever waiting for payday and running the risk of the company not going forward or the general mkt/ global conditions changing whilst you wait.
