This is problematic imo. Their investment strategy is focussed on buying undervalued quality (large cap) companies. I’m simplifying, but it’s about picking the Apples, Nestles and the like from their investment universe, hold for the longterm to let compounding do its work, and tweak the portfolio as and when needed.Trying to time and exploit macro conditions is a distinct strategy. Yes, the two can be combined, but it’s difficult for a large fund to pull off. It also adds a lot more risk.Hamish is a super smart guy, but trying to outsmart the market in this manner is pretty dumb!
