@dingle,
Would that my posts didn't cause you such offence.
But, the good news fortunately for you, is that there are a few things you can do to address this if it so bothers you.
You can either:
a) appeal to the arbitration powers of this forum's highly capable and impartial moderators,
or
b) invoke the Ignore button
But what you can't do, unfortunately, is make unilateral determinations of what is appropriate discourse and what is pretentious academic discourse. Because that's not how public discussion boards work. And also because it is somewhat subjective... for example, one person's "academic" is another's "reality".
As for your argument that "most investors in Mesoblast are aware of the risks involved and have invested an amount that makes sense for them":
Really? On what basis, other than pure presumption, do you make this assertion?
Because based on the evidence, the overwhelming majority of posts here make no reference whatsoever to the notion of risk; indeed, when the topic of potential risks have been raised in the past (for example, the risk that the company needed to raise fresh equity capital and the risk of Teva being a possible reluctant partner), scorn was poured on whoever raised those topics... today, both of those major risks have become manifest.
Sadly, the result is a share price that is 75% lower than the day that those risks were first raised by some poster(s), and then summarily dismissed by the majority of others.
"The measurement of reward and risk varies for every individual."
Absolutely.
So why, then, do you have an objection to one particular individual expressing his particular view of the risk-to-reward equation for MSB?
"And finally why do you seemingly take every opportunity to criticise those of us who proudly support this extraordinary Australian company?"
Firstly, it is not the supporters of this company I criticise; I merely seek to draw attention to things that people either fail to see, or actively choose to ignore.
Completely in line with the very raison détre of a public stock discussion forum.
As for "...this extraordinary Australian company...", I'm not sure if I detect some nationalistic fervor in there, but I do agree that this is indeed an extraordinary company.
But just like "pretentious academic discourse" is a subjective value, so too is the interpretation of the adjective of "extraordinary".
In closing, remember: REPORT or IGNORE.
Very simple.
