Rouse had exclusive access to books, and has not made any offer - let alone an offer higher than Adamantem's indicative offer. That may or may not be significant I suppose.
There remains a possibility that Adamantem after access to books decides it is not worth $1.817, and makes a lower offer.
The market reaction so far has been tepid to say the least, making me suspicious that the offer will be lower.

Of course, Rouse can still make an offer even after Adamantem - in an auction, sometimes a bidder does not know what they are prepared to pay until they see a competing bid. Lol
