Not quite sure about that, it would all depend on what sort of takeover it is, if it were a takeover with a premium then you may not lose anything provided your purchase price was somewhere within the take over price range. If it was a merger acquisition via a share swap then you could end up worse off, Dart Energy is a classic example. Even a take over at 5 cents would see a greater majority of holders lose a bucket load.
