Sorry but don't think this is relevant, US bankrupcy protection allows restructuring and you can come our of Bankrupcy protection the point here is very different they would like to sell off this LTD company, The losses are contained only in this company and therefore by essence the liability is limited.

In the 3M case they want to postpone the lawsuit due to restructuring, this will allow them years to continue running the business without having the lawsuit proceed, No one says in 3M that 3M is liable for the costs should it fail.

The regulators have overplayed there hand here in my opinion and ift was my choice I would be putting ot them that I will close down LFS and they should seek to recover the fines losses from the carcass that remains
