I would still recommend lodging complaints with ASIC regardless. The more complaints ASIC receive, the more pressure there is on them to act. Also the more likely that certain directors' names will be flagged in search results whenever ASIC analysts run searches in the future.

Also, for anyone considering applying for compensation under the government's new "compensation scheme of last resort" will need to demonstrate efforts that they've taken to try and recover their money. Complaints to ASIC would be an obvious one to add to the list and won't cost you anything other than 20 minutes of your time.
