    Also, if they return all the byproducts by rail to Mt Weld, they would NOT fit in the hole they came from - not even close. The C&L of rock results in a much much larger pile of WLP/NUF materials than the pile put into the kiln or pulled out of the mine. Everything put into the kiln including water and acids becomes part of the pile. Water and acid are not just consumed by the process but incorporated into the byproduct, i.e., become part of the rock. Of course, some of the water is loose and will settle out as compacting proceeds.
