The article is all well and good and makes some valid points, but for the last couple of years no one is prepared to pay even a decent price for the shares on market. Even all the brokers think the 12 month target is around $25-27 a share, so what do we expect.
Personally, they should ask for a significant premium or split the company in 3 as an alternate strategy, you could do the PNG assets as one company, Cadia and Canada assets and Tefler/Havieron. Maybe you sell the remaining and pass on a dividend. At that point the companies as small enough that someone who wants to take them over needs a good 40% premium.
