yep... people pay the big fees when a parent is incontinent or immobile... otherwise Home Care works fine for the vast majority of people... dementia is not a key driver of admission, although about 1/3rd of residents suffer from it.
daily fees for these nursing homes are enormous... families avoid them until absolutely necessary.
further, these homes break even at 90 occupancy.
you can see the industry was already there pre CoVID.. 1H21 result presentation slide 19. there's an over-supply of beds, because the RADs means development of new shiny homes is resident funded
