5 till 5. Yes I do night shift. Required to fly to site 12 hours prior to the commencement of our first shift as per our fatigue management policy.
Cannot work more than 14 hours straight - and must have a minimum of a 10 hour break between shifts.
I get paid well - the hours I work are never beyond an acceptable amount in this industry. The company I work for have a very, very strong mental health awareness program and fatigue management is watched closely. Just finished a fatigue management course yesterday which was provided by the company. Very interesting and covered some very important topics.
I get that not all mining companies do the same but from personal experience - I know my employer does everything it can to help me with my work life and personal life.
