On the back of the Cobalt price, all Cobalt stocks have taken a beating in the last 12 months in case you missed it.
Most of them should stay down as they are laterite deposits which are complex and require huge CAPEX to refine - COB's is not one of these.
Re: Cobalt price - cobalt is plentiful for the time being. There might be the odd spike, but imo it's 2-3 years before structural supply shortages will start to put long term pressure on price.

The point is BPL has a lot to do with management being unable to execute: farm-in milestone delays, site access issues, more dispute notices than I care to count, confrontational language in releases, refusing to contribute to the JV.
In regards to value accretion - 30% of the project and more importantly IMO, sole control, are potential windfalls for COB.

Do a little research and you'll find that COB have already engaged with LG and sold a stake in the project. Further downstream partner investment is the next step to advance the project IMO, but it's unlikely to happen with a chirpy, reluctant 30% JV partner using their name on the title as a bargaining chip in the majority of their releases.

The binding decision can't come soon enough.
