When wannabe RE companies in their presentations talk of forward demand deficit, and in their graphs they attribute the majority of this perceived demand to be from the EV industry, one should be very focused as to what is taking place there.
China has shown that upping their oxide production to meet the requirements of magnet producers to meet internal demand and export demand has been not a problem for them, and in their auto sector they are expected to exceed 12 million NEV's this year, world wide auto sales just shy of 80 mill
And by all accounts Chinas EV production numbers will keep growing.
For a outside of Chinese auto maker, going forward waiting 5 or 6 or maybe longer years for some product so they can get someone else to hopefully make magnets for them is not helping them in present day reality. China is challenging the ROW auto industry with EV's, and I have no doubt whatso ever at all that the ROW will out innovate China in this arena, tis a matter of survival, adapt innovate and quickly, and that's what is happening.
Even though a year ago, the below article is even more relevant today when one looks as to how far some of them have progressed.

When some post here in relation to EU breaking away from China I have to wonder as to what rock they are living under, the EU act stipulates that they may not source over 65% of any strategic raw material from a single nation. No way are the EU going to cut their ties with China, the trade ties between the two are of great importance.
