Today Stockland group (SGP) received FIRB approval for its transaction which was announced 18/12/23. Thats 11 months from announcement to approval, as I said before, 12 months is a reasonable expectation for a decision for CZRs sale.
I can't find if Stockland applied for FIRB approval at the time of its announcement of acquisition to the market, but it would be reasonably expected that they did. It is a $1B transaction for prime residential land, while CZR is selling a small parcel of desert for next to nothing in real terms.
ACCC raised concerns about SGP gaining monopoly after eliminating the competition through this acquisition and overcharging for development. Have any concerns been raise by federal bodies on miracles acquisition of CZR? No.
