The BOD's careers are already ascertained at D&D if the offer is accepted. The refusal of the first low-ball offer, then the higher offer has been nothing more than song and dance. Both parties (and the big boys trading the song and dance) have clearly known this cloud was looming and this current scenario would play out like this.
