A  reminder from the Ann.:-

Companies take legal advice before committing to buying permits, as you dont do it with out getting some security of tenure.  If it was left open for a govt to withdraw permissions whenever it feels like it, there would be no mining anywhere by private companies.

Unfortunately this devil may care atttitude to rule of law is all too frequent in a lot of ooga booga countries. **on, Tanzania, Senegal, Haiti, to name a few. You need to wait and see what the legal advice is.

The current temporary President Traore seems like a reasonable sort of fellow, and like those before him, he wants the army to be supplied and paid properly so they can fight the insurgents and get rid of them. The people seem to support him. The previous coup leader still wasnt doing a good enough job so they ousted him. But the Mines Minister may be fairly autonomous, who knows....bribery, corruption, is all rife there.

And yeah, re payment of gold to Wagners...well, LOL....only 20% of their resource was measured, and they didnt really hit any red hot grades, did they? Mostly medium grade for which they got a fair bit of digging and BCMs to move.  Ha ha I dont think any artisan miners moving in are going to producing gold bars in a hurry if they decide to go onsite.

We have no way of knowing what the real reason for the permit withdrawal is, if we ever do.....
