Update on AFR regarding Tilt Renewable bidders.

First up is Canada’s Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ).

Mercury is also in the second round and it is understood to be bidding with a partner – a deep-pocketed type that’s particularly keen on Tilt’s Australian portfolio.

QIC, Future Fund and AGL Energy-backed PowAR (the new name for the Powering Australian Renewables Fund) is also understood to be in the process.

The other contender is the acquisitive Aussie fund manager Infrastructure Capital Group, which lines up with partner Engie. The two parties entered into a renewables joint venture late last year.

It is currently unknown if APA Group made it through to the next round. There’s also speculation AusSuper may come back and just take the lot.

    Cheers,
