well yes no damage is great. but withdrawing a target that still had 9 months left to hit is a bit of a defeatist attitude from management imo.

i do hate over promising and under delivering, but this just screams soft targets and an unwillingness to recover, particularly this far out.

it says to me they were likely not going to hit it anyway and management are leaning on this weather event as a crutch instead of taking ownership.

i understand pits and wet weather and have half a career in them (though not in africa). ive been involved in some very wet events, but particularly given the early stage of mining were a lot is mobilisation and access, i wouldnt have expected time frame to blow out that disastrously. if dewatering an issue get some more/bigger pumps. Being an older mine there should be no shortage of old workings/holes to pump into.

understand not hitting guidance for fy25, it only takes a week or so to blow out production numbers for the year, particularly this late in the fy. But withdrawing a run *rate* in 9 months says they were unlikely to be close anyway.

Bit annoyed with the pissweak call made by management here. if anyone can record the call or provide a rough overview would be greatly appreciated
