You know that the asset was distressed, right? As in GUY had completely halted production.
and they were bidding against Zhijin, much larger company, they couldn't win when zhijin upped their bid on response to SVM. But SVM booked tens of millions in profit from their losing bid.
SVM is savvy. You lot think you're going to outsmart them holding out for more in a country that investors have mostly avoided due to political and economic issues building mines.
