Actually not the worst idea;
Management to whip around to shareholders (since they're in active talks about takeover) & get pre-support for a 4c cash offer.
Or get some insight into what gets a majority vote; so that they can aggressively represent the majority of shareholders with confidence.
As opposed to fielding offers, go to a vote, or have angry shareholders email in, etc.
Just a proactive thought on managing the situation with vigor.
