Perfect summary. Even if the escrow sellers havent sold, the perception that they might be or might have, is enough to spook the market, leading to to outcome you desribe.
To use a rather agricultural turn of phrase, this perception of selling by escrow sellers is rather like a boil thats been growing and growing for 2 years, and suddenly burst today.
