My, view is that Brunos response is at odds with the companies official announcement. You have a different vie, so we disagree.
You may very well had the response that you posted, but As it was a private email to you we have know idea if it is as you posted. No reflection on you , just cautious on an anomyous site.

And as I posted, it is not the sort of response that a my CFO or Director I know would pen and email.
Most have the ability to tell you nothing but leave you feeling good that your question has been answered
