Not true. A bank guarantee secured by the term deposit means that the bank takes the term deposit as security so you cant use it. It sits there earning interest and only released if the guarantee is returned or called by the beneficiary. Perhaps this is how its done in the shitco world but it still doesn't make commercial sense.
