It's all (I'm sure deliberately) rather hard to explain.
If the term deposit had a "rollover of 90 days" (as they say it did) wouldn't you expect it to be paid quarterly?
But this is all a bit beside the point - in all likelihood it wasn't a term deposit in a Big 5 bank (the only AA3 institutions in Australia) at all.
